 Q.1 There is a monkey menace. What to do?

Ans. Permission for catching problematic monkeys is given by Chief Wildlife Warden (Rajasthan) under the Law.
 
Q.2 There is a deadly snake in the house. What to do?

Ans. Please don’t kill the snake as the snake is more scared than you are. For help call the local DFO / Forest Officer.
 
Q.3 Wild animal is found in the human habitation. What to do?

Ans. Avoid confronting the animal. Inform local officers who can arrange for trapping and safely removing the animal from the habitation.
 
Q.4 We want to keep peafowl and deer to rear as pets. Do we get permission?

Ans. Wild animals especially, the endangered species cannot be permitted to be kept as pets. Peafowl is a schedule and endangered animal. Permission may to large establishments having sufficient space to keep the un-scheduled animals only through a license granted by the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi.

 

 
Q.5 How can I keep an animal Trophy?

Ans. Keeping any animal article or trophy without valid license is an offence under Wildlife Protection Act 1972. No person other than a person having a certificate of ownership, shall, after the commencement of the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Act 2002 acquire, receive, keep in his control custody or possession any captive animal; animal article, trophy or uncured trophy specified in Schedule I or Part II of Schedule II, except by way of inheritance. Every person inheriting any captive animal, animal article, trophy or uncured trophy under sub-section shall, within ninety days of such inheritance make declaration to the Chief Wild Warden or the authorised officer and the provisions of sections 41 and 42 shall apply as if the declaration had been made under sub-section.
 

Q.6 Can I rear a Antelope or Deer?

Ans. You cannot rear an antelope or Deer, since Deer is a wild animal of schedule III of WPA.

 

 
Q.7 Where can I get seedling for planting in my house/institute/Field bunds?

Ans. You can contact Deputy Conservator of Forests, or Other Forest Officer’s who is located at District Headquarters or the Forest Range Officer whose headquarters are situated in important Area headquarters.
 
Q.8 How do I know about what species are available in the nursery located in my Area?

Ans. The Deputy Conservator of Forests of each district will publish a booklet before planting season (in the months of April/May) showing the species available in each nursery District wise and the number and type of species can be know from this booklet.
